I’ve always wanted to do standup comedy, but before 2022, I’d always been one of those ‘brain full, self-esteem empty” kind of artists. Then we had our son. I quit my job to pursue standup, but spending every night at open mics to perform for three minutes in front of three bearded dudes who looked exactly like me wasn’t exactly cool. So, in April 2022 I decided 'Fuck it, what if I did comedy on Substack?’ and Both Are True was born.
Since then, it’s grown to over 6,000 subscribers with a ~40% open rate, 8% ctr, and average of 58 comments per post.
